We are seeking a motivated and reliable hardworker to join our team of Plant Operators in the Waste Management team.  You will have a willingness to learn and further develop your knowledge skills and experience.

The Operator Landfill is responsible for:

  • Performing waste operation activities including:
    • General Resource Recovery
    • Solid Waste Management
    • Street / Pavement Cleaning
    • Small Material Recycling Facility (SMRF) processing operations
  • Performing activities on the work site to ensure work safety and effective programming of activities.


  • Certificate III in Civil Construction, Waste Management, Plant or demonstrated practical experience working on heavy equipment
  • Demonstrated capability and experience, typically a minimum of 12 months, operating one or more of the following plant and equipment:
    • D7 Dozer
    • 973K Track Loader
    • 730 EJ Articulated Haul Truck
    • 950K Loader
    • 48 BOMAG Garbage Compactor
    • 25 to 30 Ton Excavator
    • Twin Steer Hook Truck
    • Posi Track Skid Steer
    • Telehandler 
    • 12 ton Drum Roller
    • Street Sweeper Truck

Salary range: Grade 6 - $1,044.60 - $1,130.40 per week (plus 11% superannuation) and allowances, for a 38 hour work week. Additional penalty rates are available for weekend work and a adverse working conditions allowance. Opportunities for overtime work are also periodically available. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

NOTE: The Ordinary Hours for the Landfill Operator position are worked to a seven-day roster which includes weekend work in accordance with a roster which is based on a 9 day fortnight arrangement. Generally, the ordinary hours of work are rostered between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

The Ordinary Hours for the Street Sweeper Operator position are worked to a seven-day roster which includes night and weekend work in accordance with a roster which is based on a 9 day fortnight arrangement. Generally, the ordinary hours of work are rostered between 4:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
