Land Development Inspection Officer – Subdivisions

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and proactive professional to join our Planning and Development team and support the delivery of high-quality land development outcomes across the City. In this role, you will assess Construction, Dust, Noise and Environmental Management Plans, undertake subdivision inspections, and ensure civil engineering works are delivered in accordance with approved plans, specifications and relevant legislation.

Working closely with developers, consultants and contractors, you will provide specialist advice on engineering conditions relating to land development, monitor compliance throughout all stages of subdivision, and assist in resolving technical issues. You will also play a key role in protecting the City’s interests through site inspections, defect management and the provision of timely, professional advice, while delivering outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will bring experience in road inspection, maintenance, civil construction or a related field, together with a strong understanding of road construction practices and asset maintenance principles. Experience in a civil construction environment, particularly in a site supervisor, leading hand or road construction role, will be highly regarded, along with relevant industry training such as AAPA and ARRB courses. With well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to build effective working relationships and contribute to the delivery of safe, sustainable and high-quality infrastructure outcomes for the community.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

1. Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials and techniques specific to the delivery of subdivision infrastructure, including earthworks, roads and drainage.
2. Demonstrated experience in supervising subdivision civil works to ensure compliance with approved engineering drawings, technical specifications and statutory requirements.
3. Effective communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to coordinate and liaise with developers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors
4. A Diploma in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline), or equivalent demonstrated experience

We are offering a gross salary of $102,707 to $110,461 per annum (Depending on Experience) and:

• 12% superannuation with the opportunity to co-contribute up to 5%
