About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking a Plant Operator / Labourer.

Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating machinery, and being part of a team that helps keep public spaces beautiful, safe, and enjoyable for everyone? As a Plant Operator / Labourer in Council’s Recreation Section, you’ll work as a team to maintain and improve local parks, playgrounds, green spaces and tree assets.

Key Requirements

  • Engaging in hands-on tree maintenance activities including pruning, removals, and planting
  • Driving and operating trucks, including truck and Elevated Work Platform (EWP), and a variety of plant equipment
  • To provide labouring and other related duties within the Recreation Section as required.
  • To ensure that safe working procedures are observed and adhered to

  • Practical skills and experience in tree maintenance or similar outdoor work
  • Ability to operate plant equipment confidently and safely

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,044.00 to $1,096.90 per week + superannuation + allowances

Position Status: Permanent Full-time

Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every second week
