About the role
This is an ongoing, part-time position working 21 hours per week. This position is located at the Nowra Library. This position is required to work Wednesday 11 am – 7 pm and Thursday, Friday 9 am – 5 pm.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Collection & Resources Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Work as part of the Collection Services team assisting with ordering, accessioning, processing, and deselecting of library stock for the South Coast Co-Operative Library Service.
  • Perform regular circulation desk shift work, as required.
  • Assist Children’s and Youth Services Coordinator with children’s events and activities as required.
  • Ensures that all communication provided is correct, factual, timely, customer-focused and in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements and Council procedures.
  • Ensures the Supervisor or Coordinator is aware of difficult/sensitive issues which arise.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Higher School Certificate or equivalent
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Current NSW Working with Children’s Check
  • This position is a designated Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander position – validated proof of aboriginality must be sighted / provided.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
