About the position:
The Infrastructure General Hand undertakes operational activities associated with the provision of footpath maintenance services to the City of Greater Geraldton, working under direction to ensure all work is carried out within agreed programs and budget constraints and in compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, City policies, procedures and relevant Australian standards.
This position works a 9 day fortnight with every second Friday as a non-working day.
Key accountabilities:
- Participate in hazard identification and controls through the development of specific JHA and ensuring team accountability.
- Promote safe work practices and environment through leading by example.
- Repair and maintain the City’s network of footpaths using techniques including concrete formwork, finishing and brick paving.
- General operation of plant and hand tools, carry out maintenance and/or labour duties as required.
- Operate plant and specialised concreting equipment in a competent and safe manner including skid steer, loader and other machinery as required.

Position requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess an MR licence and have proven experience in the maintenance and repair of concrete pathways, kerbing, and related structures. However, applicants with limited relevant experience who demonstrate a strong willingness to learn are welcome to apply.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary starting from $76,072 per annum or $38.49 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
