About the position

Narromine Shire Council is seeking a qualified and experienced person to join the organisation in the position of ICT Coordinator.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the management and support of Council's network servers, computer systems, communications and users while ensuring a high level of system availability, security, and customer service within a corporate environment. 

The position will also assist with the planning and implementation of ICT projects, including projects listed in the ICT strategic plan, as well as other operational projects when required.

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • Class `C’ Drivers Licence.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position or experience in technical support.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting.
  • Sound knowledge in Microsoft server, desktop & office products.
  • Proficient in managing and prioritising multiple projects.
  • Good interpersonal skills, and an ability to impart information about technology and Council services to internal stakeholders.
  • Good written skills including report writing.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
  • Able to work in a team environment.

It will be desirable for you to have: 

  • Cert IV IT, Diploma IT or relevant vendor certifications
  • Previous experience in Local Government or similar sector.
  • Microsoft 365/Cloud services experience.
  • Knowledge of Microfocus Content Manager software.
  • Experience supporting Civica’s ‘Authority’ software.
  • Sound knowledge of Cyber Security frameworks and practices.

The details relating to this position are:

  • The position is graded 11 within Council's salary structure
  • The salary range is from $70,199 to $79,424 per annum plus superannuation. The salary step is determined by an annual competency assessment. 
  • 35 hour working week applies. NSC has a Flexitime system whereby 2.5 hours per week can be worked and accrued to be taken at a time convenient to you and your supervisor.
  • Employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award
