About the opportunity
The role is primarily responsible for program management and coordination within the Transformational Projects Program Management Office, focusing on the delivery of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grant (WSIG) projects, accommodation projects, and other projects within the Transformational Projects Program as required.
The position will require:
- Completion of specified tasks to ensure responsibilities related with Council’s Transformational Projects are carried out to the highest quality design and in accordance with program, budget, and brief requirements.
- Assisting with and coordinating activities related to capital expenditure reviews, authority approvals, stakeholder engagement, risk management, project governance, and compliance..
- Assisting with and managing procurement and contract management activities, including but not limited to RFQs, tenders, contracts, contractor claims, and the project handover process
- Preparing reports, memos, process manuals, letters, and other related correspondence.
- Supporting the delivery of the Directorate’s key objectives as directed by various department managers.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Degree in Construction Project Management, Engineering or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in construction project management, contract management including local government procurement process, contract administration and compliance
- Highly developed organisational and administrative skills with an attention to detail
- Current class C driver’s license
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- High level oral and written communication skills to a broad range of audiences
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Desirable
- Experience working within an Engineering or Project Management Office
- Experience on Local Government procurement Process
- Experience on construction project Management
- Experience in documentation and delivery of projects
- Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government Regulations in relation to procurement.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,730.04 per week
- 35-hour working week
