About the role

The General Manager will assume responsibility for developing and implementing key strategies and plans; will establish productive relationships with Council, and provide specialist advice and leadership to Council, directors, senior managers and staff whilst ensuring the delivery of a customer focused, accountable and responsive service to the community.  

What You Bring to the Role

Your collaborative leadership style and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to create a working environment focused on delivering the strategic outcomes and high levels of service desired by the Mosman community. You possess strong political acumen and a demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and integrity.

To be successful in this role, you will have an established track record of accomplishment within Local Government, including a strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and governance frameworks. You will bring proven experience in financial management (budget development and reporting), overseeing local government infrastructure and assets, and leading diverse teams to achieve strategic objectives.

With your excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills, you will effectively articulate and progress Council’s strategic agenda and values while preserving and protecting the community and organisation. Your demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, coupled with proven experience in community consultation and engagement strategies, will be crucial. Experience in leveraging technology and driving digital transformation initiatives within a local government setting, alongside a strong commitment to fostering a customer-centric approach, will be highly regarded.
