The Role
Reporting to the Coordinator Open Space Operations, the purpose of this position is to undertake activities that will assist in the maintenance of Council’s Open Space including horticultural and arboriculture works to passive parks, streetscapes, recreation facilities, bushland and riparian areas and ensure that these open spaces are in excellent condition, maintained to be safe and suitable for use by the community.
About You
You will have sound knowledge of horticulture and arboriculture as well as demonstrated experience in parks maintenance and enhancement. You will demonstrate an ability to effectively interact with the public as well as other workers in a positive and courteous manner, whilst being an ambassador for Hawkesbury Council.
Essential Criteria
- Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent with relevant experience in parks maintenance and enhancement, arboriculture
- Chemical Application certificate
- Ability to undertake manual handling and the physical requirements of the role
- Sound knowledge of plant and implement use, maintenance and safety
- Sound understanding of lawn maintenance and improvements
- Understanding of the Pesticide Act
- Class C Drivers Licence
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
