About the role:

There are two positions available. This role is responsible for leading a gang and, when required, coordinating contractors to carry out a variety of maintenance tasks under minimal supervision. Work may include road and pavement repairs, earthworks, vegetation control, and other related activities, requiring well-developed communication and problem-solving skills. The role is essential in ensuring the safety of the public and workers, protecting environmental values, and supporting emergency services during adverse conditions. It also involves liaising with other Council units and external authorities, maintaining records for the maintenance management system, and performing other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

What we are seeking: 

  • Hold a current Medium Rigid drivers licence   
  • Skilled in road maintenance and supervision of staff, equipment, and resources.
  • Experienced in estimating resources, quality control, and site safety/traffic management.
  • Strong communication skills, including documentation and record keeping.
  • Knowledgeable in Maintenance Management Systems and environmental protection.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings and preparing cost estimates up to $5K.
