We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer (Strategic Projects) to join our Infrastructure Services team. This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of the Shire's capital works program through project accounting, grant administration, financial reporting and procurement support.

In this role you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Support the financial administration of infrastructure and capital works projects.
  • Coordinate purchase requisitions, goods receipting and project expenditure processes.
  • Monitor project budgets and assist with financial forecasting and reporting activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of capital business cases and budget submissions.
  • Coordinate grant-funded projects, including acquittals, compliance reporting and milestone tracking.
  • Prepare financial and funding reports to support project delivery and informed decision-making.
  • Investigate project variances and assist with implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide support and advice to staff regarding project financial management, procurement and grant reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, controls and reporting practices.

Our preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following experience and skillset:

  • Experience in project administration, accounting, grant administration or a similar finance-related role.
  • Strong financial administration and reporting skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyse information and identify financial risks, issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with TechnologyOne (Onecomm) and/or previous Local Government experience will be highly regarded.
