About the role

This position provides financial and
administrative support to the City Projects and Sustainable Futures units,
including purchasing functions, financial reporting, budget input, and support
for other units as required.

As the Finance Advisor (City Projects & Sustainable Futures) you will:

  • Undertake purchasing functions including purchase order and invoice transactions.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, financial returns and inputs to unit budgets.
  • Liaise with the Finance Unit regarding the unit’s budget, monthly performance reports and adjustments to the accounts.
  • Monitor the unit’s financial performance against adopted performance indicators

Skills and experience

  • Relevant Tertiary
    Qualification and/or substantial previous experience.
  • An experienced
    professional in the areas of accounts receivable and payable systems,
    capital and operational budget monitoring and reporting.
  • Flexible and able to respond to changing priorities and able to complete tasks within tight
    timeframes.
  • Knowledgeable in
    financial management systems and processes in a local government
    environment.
  • A problem solver,
    able to resolve operational and service delivery issues to meet the needs of
    service unit teams.
  • Knowledgeable in
    the use of financial management systems including Finance 1 and Enterprise
    Budgeting.
