About the team
The Water Services team at Council is currently welcoming expressions of interest from anyone who is qualified as a plumber or within the water and wastewater industry, and we have roles that cover a wide variety of tasks, including:
- Day to day maintenance and repairs of the water reticulation networks within Inverell, Ashford and Yetman.
- Liaising with our fitters on the maintenance and repair of water infrastructure such as pumps and tanks.
- Inspections of water infrastructure across the Shire, including at our water treatment, storage and distribution assets.
- Participation in an on-call roster on a rotating basis, and occasionally carrying out breakdown repairs while on-call or after hours.
Remuneration shall vary depending on the role and duties, but shall be inclusive of Adverse Working Conditions allowance and be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Overtime and other allowances are payable where applicable.

Examples of qualifications or training that would be advantageous:
- Plumbing trade qualification
- Trade Certificate as Fitter or other related trade, or suitable experience.
- A truck licence of Class MR or higher.
- National Licence to perform High Risk Work for Dogging (DG)
- Enter and work in confined spaces unit of competency completed in the last two (2) years.
- Work safely at heights unit of competency completed in the last two (2) years.
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card ('White Card').
- SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Traffic Controller (TCR) accreditation.
- SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Implement Traffic Control Plants (IMP) accreditation.
