About the opportunity

Come be a part of our team and help create unforgettable community experiences! We are looking for an enthusiastic Events Trainee to join our team on a term contract full-time basis for up to 24 months to assist in the coordination and implementation of various community festivals and functions. You will attend and successfully complete your Certificate III in Events at a Registered Training Organisation, gaining practical skills and knowledge in event management, with day per week at TAFE and the remaining 4 days will be on-the-job training.

An ideal candidate will maintain effective website pages with accurate and up-to-date event information, prepare Council correspondence, and process purchase orders as needed. Key responsibilities include coordinating bookings and online ticketing for events, and providing onsite assistance to our Events Team during evenings, weekends, and/or on public holidays. You may also be involved in the management of volunteers.

Who can apply

  • Applicants who have not completed a Certificate II qualification or above in a similar field 
  • Applicants who are motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering a high standard events and functions
  • Applicants who have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Applicants must be an Australian citizen or be eligible to work in Australia (evidence required)
  • Applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
