  • Salary $53,196.00 to $58,494.80 p/a + super
  • Fixed Term Full Time Contract – Up to 2 years

About the role

Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and eager to make a positive impact in your community?

 

Council is seeking a motivated and dedicated Environmental Programs Undergraduate to join our team and help drive our mission for a greener, more sustainable future.

 

As an Environmental Programs Undergraduate, you will have the chance to work alongside experts in the field of environmental conservation and sustainability.

 

This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to a variety of environmental projects, engage with local communities, and gain invaluable experience in managing environmental initiatives.

 

Reporting to the Environmental Programs Officer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the delivery of the native bee program
  • Support citizen science programs, including data review and reporting
  • Contribute to the Bushcare site monitoring program
  • Assist with the Treecare monitoring program
  • Support the Environmental Levy Grants program
  • Help evaluate and promote verge gardening initiatives
  • Assist with research and development projects related to urban biodiversity
  • Aid in the planning and delivery of community events
  • Contribute to newsletters and social media content creation
  • Assist with field inspections, flora, and fauna surveys

 

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Currently enrolled in the penultimate or final year of an undergraduate Environment degree or a relevant discipline
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Working with Children clearance number (or willingness to obtain)
  • First aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • A passion for environmental conservation and sustainability
