If you love the great outdoors and have an interest in environmental health, this is the role for you. The primary focus for this position is to undertake field-related tasks in mosquito management and environmental sampling, as well as office based work. If successful, you will be undertaking water and food sampling, inspecting local premises, assisting with mosquito control and analysing scientific data.

You are a strong communicator; possess the ability to work autonomously or in a team and have a passion for learning and developing your skills. With well-developed time management skills and attention to detail, you are able to get on with analytically complex tasks and produce written documents to support your recommendations.

Experience or knowledge relating to the industries of environmental health or environmental science is essential as you need to have a good understanding of related legislation to be able to perform this role well. A current and valid ‘C’ class driver’s licence is essential. Willingness to undertake a degree in Environmental Health is highly regarded for the role, and can be supported by the City through study leave and fees.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  1. Willingness to complete a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or a related field (desirable)
  2. Current unrestricted ‘C’ class drivers licence
  3. Ability to undertake field based mosquito operations
  4. Sound negotiation, decision making and analytical skills
  5. Sound time management and organisational skills
  6. Ability to interpret Environmental Health related legislation and policies
  7. Sound written, verbal and communication skills

We are offering a salary of $83,781 per annum plus superannuation
