About the role

This position is a permanent full-time role in the Development and Compliance team and is based at the Moruya Administration Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team that monitors, investigates and resolves regulatory matters in the areas of public and environment health and safety.

 

The starting salary for this position is $109,651.69 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation.

About you

The ideal candidate for this exciting position will have well-developed leadership and management skills, ensuring the teams work cooperatively, strategically, and safely to improve productivity and work outcomes. As a strong communicator, it is essential you can mediate, negotiate outcomes, and communicate at both general and technical levels with a wide variety of audiences.

If you are tech savvy and have a tertiary degree qualification in science, environmental health, regulatory services or environmental law (or equivalent), this could be the role for you. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Detailed knowledge of the relevant Acts and Regulations relevant to public and environmental health, ranger services, planning, and built environment.
  • High level of demonstrated experience in undertaking compliance and enforcement activities in the areas of environment health & safety, regulatory ranger services, planning, building and development services.
  • Practical experience in developing and implementing inspection programs.
  • Experience in environmental monitoring and knowledge of field and laboratory testing procedures.
