About Us
Maitland City Council is a diverse and dynamic organisation in a rapidly growing LGA. Working from our modern, architecturally designed and recognised Maitland Administration Centre, we are looking to add an Engagement Officer to our skilled and experienced team who, through their work positively impact our community.

About the Role

This newly created role focuses on developing and delivering Council's Communication and Engagement Strategy. As our Engagement Officer, you will advise and support the delivery of best practice community engagement activities across all areas of Council.
You will develop, design and coordinate engagement activities, including but not limited to focus groups, workshops, social media initiatives and online engagement tools to establish an ongoing conversation with the community and ensure Council aligns community priorities with corporate goals.
By analysing and interpreting engagement outcomes data, you will identify emerging trends in community engagement, provide high quality feedback and advice to the Strategic Engagement Officer and internal teams, and generate reports for Council to support their future community engagement planning.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess tertiary qualifications in community engagement, business, social sciences, communications or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of contemporary experience and/or education/training.
You will have contemporary industry knowledge and experience in ongoing community/stakeholder engagement techniques, including face to face, online and social media, and a demonstrated ability to foster and create positive partnerships with key stakeholders, groups and community members.

Additionally, you will have demonstrated experience in monitoring and interpreting data from a range of engagement sources and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write strategies, and plan and prepare content effectively to engage and influence a range of community and Council stakeholders.

Benefits
This is a permanent fulltime role working 35 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $79,017 - $87,709 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 11% p.a superannuation.
