THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Water & Waste team on a full-time contract for 12-24 months.

This is a diverse role that combines technical engineering, project management and field based problem solving.

  • Prepare engineering designs, technical specifications, tender documentation & contract documentation
  • Support upgrades to SCADA, telemetry, PLC & industrial communication systems
  • Lead investigations, troubleshooting & continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operations performance & asset reliability
  • Develop safe, compliant, reliable & energy-efficient electrical & control system solutions that deliver long-term value
  • Ensure projects meet safety, environmental, quality, time & budget objectives while complying with relevant legislation & engineering standards

COULD THIS BE YOU?

To be successful in this role you will have hands-on experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning.

The Electrical Engineer (Contract) is responsible for:

  • Electrical design and installation of water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting electrical & automation systems within live operational environments
  • Contractor management and stakeholder engagement
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reliability and asset performance
  • Ensuring industry legislation, codes, guidelines & standards relevant to WHS, construction & risk are applied
  • Project planning & management including managing budgets & financial plans
  • Management, supervision & administration of construction contracts

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering acceptable for Corporate Membership of Engineers Australia
  • Experience with design & installation of electrical equipment for water & wastewater works
  • NSW Drivers Licence
  • WHS General Induction for Construction Work
  • Immunisations for Hepatitis, Tetanus & Q-Fever (or willingness to undergo)
  • PLC, RTU & SCADA programming and High Voltage design or operating experience are desirable
  • Experience within utilities, mining, industrial processing or other critical infrastructure sectors will be highly regarded

Salary range: Grade range 16-19 - $97,260.86 - $126,058.21 per annum plus superannuation and leaseback vehicle* for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

* It should be noted that an employee salary contribution is required for this motor vehicle.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
