About the Opportunity

At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together
to achieve positive outcomes for our community. To help us achieve this, we
have a part time temporary opportunity for an experienced Education Officer to
join our Community Education team. This is a varied role suited to someone with
experience in community-based social marketing, behavioural sciences, or
environmental education.

The Education Team works across Council functions and services to
support positive community behaviours through education and behaviour change
initiatives. This includes developing and delivering campaigns, workshops,
tours, events, school programs, digital content and community
resources that help residents understand issues, build skills, overcome
barriers, and take practical action. The team supports behaviour change needs
across topics such as waste, water, environmental sustainability, wildlife
conservation, coastal management, road safety and other local
priorities.

This role will take the lead on our wildlife conservation projects
while supporting the team in the delivery of a range of other projects
throughout the year.

What you'll be doing

• Work
  with internal Council stakeholders to understand education needs and develop
  relevant initiatives in response.
• Use
  behavioural science and social marketing approaches to help design education
  campaigns and behavioural interventions.
• Lead
  and support community education pop-up stalls, workshops, school visits,
  facility tours, and other education activities.
• Write
  clear, engaging content for websites, newsletters,
  print resources and other campaign materials.
• Work
  with communications and design teams to develop campaign messaging and product
  collateral.
• Prepare
  project plans, evaluation methods, activity materials and reporting
  summaries.
• Supervise
  and support Casual Education Assistants during education events and activities.
• Prepare,
  transport, set up and pack down equipment and resources for community
  activities.

About you

You will be a confident communicator who enjoys working with
people and can adapt your approach for different audiences, from school
students and families through to residents, community groups and
internal stakeholders.

You will be comfortable managing your own workload, with support
from the Education Coordinator and wider team, and be able to prioritise tasks
and meet competing deadlines.

You will bring strong presentation and facilitation skills,
experience in a community-facing role, and the ability to write clearly for a
range of audiences. You will also have project coordination experience and a
practical, organised approach to delivering projects and activities.

Experience in behaviour change, social marketing, environmental
education, sustainability, communications or a related field would be
highly regarded. Teaching or early childhood experience may also be valuable,
although this is not a classroom teaching role.

Most importantly, you will be creative,
adaptable, collaborative and motivated to help people make informed
choices that contribute to positive outcomes for our community and our natural
environment.

Other important information

This is a part-time, temporary role working 14 hours per week
until the end of April 2027.

The preferred working days are Tuesday and Thursday, although some
flexibility may be considered. There may also be occasional opportunities
for additional ad hoc hours to support events or operational needs.

The role includes working with both children and adult/community
audiences. A current paid Working with Children Check and driver's license will
be required.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Part time, Temporary 14 hours per week until the end of April 2027

Salary (exclusive of super): Weekly pro rata salary in the range of $668.73 to $748.51 depending on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation
