Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking
a strategic and driven Coordinator Economic Development to lead major
initiatives that will shape the future of the region.

With significant investment underway,
including the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone this is a rare
opportunity to influence real economic outcomes, attract new industries, and
help guide the region through long-term transition beyond mining.

About the Role

You’ll operate at a strategic level,
working directly with government, industry and investors to unlock
opportunities and deliver measurable outcomes.

Key focus areas include:

  • Leading delivery of the
    Regional Economic Development Strategy
  • Driving investment
    attraction and industry growth initiatives
  • Developing a Post-Mining
    Economic Development Strategy to support long-term transition
  • Working closely with
    renewable energy proponents to maximise local economic benefit
  • Monitoring workforce,
    housing and economic impacts of major developments

About You

You’re commercially minded,
outcomes-focused, and comfortable working across government and industry.

You will bring:

  • Experience in economic
    development, investment attraction or a similar strategic role
  • Strong ability to
    develop business cases, strategies and policy advice
  • Proven stakeholder
    engagement and influencing skills
  • Analytical capability to
    translate data into actionable insights
  • Experience managing
    complex projects and competing priorities

Desirable:

  • Exposure to renewable
    energy, infrastructure or major projects
  • Understanding of local
    government or regional economic development

The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $3,780.40 - $4,254.30 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $98,290.40 - $110,611.80 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
