Join us in making a difference for children and families in Mildura. As the Early Years Project Officer, you’ll lead the Best Start Partnership, coordinating local services and initiatives to support children aged 0–8. This role focuses on improving early childhood outcomes through collaboration, community engagement, and strategic project delivery. About the Opportunity
This rewarding role involves coordinating early childhood initiatives that support children from birth to age eight, with a focus on improving health, development, and wellbeing outcomes. You will work closely with local service providers, families, and community groups to implement the Best Start model, drive systemic change, and contribute to a shared vision where all children thrive. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, along with a commitment to early years development and community engagement.

 

What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

  • Diploma or degree qualifications in early childhood, education, health, welfare, community development or relevant demonstrated experience in a similar field
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Well developed written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Local, State and Commonwealth Government service system
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including parents, local community members and local early childhood and family service agencies
  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Current National Police Check and Working With Children Check

 

Salary and conditions

The position is classified within Band 6 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $93,602 to $101,911 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
