We are currently seeking a Diploma trained Early Childhood Educator to join our positive and inclusive team at Oatley West Early Learning Centre!

About The Role
The Early Childhood Educator (Diploma) is expected to provide a friendly, secure, and stimulating learning environment for all children attending the Centre, and to assist in the planning and implementation of programmes which meet the developmental, cultural, and individual needs of children in care. You will enjoy creating an environment where every child's early years set the stage for a lifetime of curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.
Understanding that each child’s voice is essential in decision-making processes will guide your approach. By actively listening to children and incorporating their ideas and voices into learning experiences and decision-making, you will empower them and foster a sense of belonging.
You will recognise the vital role that building strong relationships with families has on children’s learning and development, ensuring families feel valued and involved in their child’s education.
We believe in taking a holistic approach to children’s learning, and as such, educators are actively involved in cross-collaboration across services, planning incursions and excursions, purchasing resources and materials for children, and consulting on programs and routines.
Taking on the role of the Responsible Person within the service, you will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the centre when necessary.

The successful candidate will have
- Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent. (for the purposes of the Education and Care Services National Law, and published in accordance with regulation 137(1)(a) of the Education and Care Services National Regulations)
- Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificates, with at least 6 months until expiry
- Current Working with Children Check, with at least 6 months until expiry
- NSW Department of Education and Communities approved Child Protection Training Certificate
- Food Handling and Preparation Training Certification
- Sound communication skills and ability to relate well to children, parents, staff, volunteers and the community
- Ability to work as a member of a team, and to provide role-modelling as appropriate
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements
- The ability to develop, document and implement an educational program for children
Desirable
- Previous experience working with children 0-5 years of age, in a Childcare Centre setting
- Demonstrated report writing and documentation skills in maintaining developmental and daily program records
- Willingness to act as a Nominated Supervisor in a Childcare Centre setting
- Demonstrated ability to work with staff, volunteers and families from diverse cultural backgrounds and with families with additional needs
- Demonstrated ability or willingness to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development and learning and experience in the application of that knowledge in the implementation and evaluation of Centre programmes
- Demonstrated ability or willingness to prioritise and meet study and work commitments and/or deadlines
- Understanding and knowledge of and ability to refer appropriately to relevant children’s services and agencies
- Ability to speak a relevant community language e.g., Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Greek
