Inner West Council is seeking an exceptional executive to lead one of the largest and most influential property and infrastructure portfolios in metropolitan local government.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and joining the Executive Leadership Team, you'll influence the future of one of Sydney's most dynamic councils, overseeing strategic investment decisions, major capital projects, community assets and the infrastructure that supports more than 188,000 residents every day.

Working alongside the General Manager, Executive Leadership Team, Mayor and Councillors, you'll help shape decisions that influence the future of one of Australia's most liveable urban communities.
The Role
In this role, you will:
- Deliver a high-performing property and major projects portfolio aligned to Council's long-term vision.
- Lead one of the region's largest capital works programs from strategy through delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement, financial sustainability and operational excellence.
- Build strong relationships with Councillors, Executive peers, government agencies and community stakeholders.
- Develop an engaged, accountable and high-performing leadership culture.
- Ensure Council's significant property and infrastructure assets continue delivering value for future generations.
About you
You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and be able to demonstrate significant contribution to the management of the strategic direction of an organisation featuring political, community, customer-focused and workforce interactions. You will demonstrate high level experience in business planning, budgeting, cost control and performance management systems and principles and the implementation of continuous improvement and quality management systems.
