We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents

 

The Role
A rewarding opportunity has presented itself for a dedicated and driven individual to join our team as a Crew Leader.
In this role you work as part of a team that focusses on maintaining and improving Council's Parks, sports fields, ovals and turf wicket areas.
*This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full-time basis

 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure parks, sports fields, turf wickets, ovals, etc under the position holders’ control are prepared, maintained and renovated in accordance with service agreements, rosters and programs
  • Provide recommendations for annual improvement, maintenance and renovation programs and implement as required. 
  • Inspect sports fields, ovals, etc. particularly following periods of excessive rainfall, and provide recommendations as to whether they should be closed or opened.
  • Working of flexible work hours including weekend and public holidays work on an 'as required basis'.
  • Undertake risk and hazard assessments of areas under their control and where necessary take corrective action.
  • Ensure all works under the position holder's control and completed within timeframes.
  • Finalise completion of works requests as allocated.

You will have:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Greenkeeping, Horticulture or a similar relevant field
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Experience in sports fields preparation and maintenance.
  • Skills & experience necessary to fulfil the role, responsibilities, duties and competency requirements of the position

 

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $75,011 (Grade E, Step 1) + AWACA + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience
