The Role
Reporting to the Manager
Strategic Planning and based in Windsor NSW, the primary purpose of this role is
to assist in the coordination and operations of the Strategic Land Use Team within the Strategic Planning Branch,
that guides the sustainable growth, development and environmental management of the Hawkesbury Local Government Area.
About You
To be successful in this
position you must have a degree qualification in Town Planning and a strong
background in Land Use Strategy/plan development supported by expertise with
related legislation. Ability to manage and coordinate multiple complex projects concurrently. You will have excellent
communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary
team.
Essential Criteria
- Degree qualification in Town Planning, Urban
Planning or related discipline recognised by the Planning Institute of
Australia. - Demonstrated experience in strategic land use
planning within Local Government or a comparable planning environment
(typically 6+ years). - Extensive experience preparing and managing
Planning Proposals and Local Environmental Plans. - Experience preparing Development Control Plans
and strategic planning policies. - Experience managing complex planning projects
involving multiple stakeholders. - Experience preparing reports for Council and
Executive. - Experience leading community consultation and
stakeholder engagement - Experience managing consultants and
multidisciplinary projects - High Level interpersonal, negotiation and
communication skills - Excellent written communication skills,
including ability to prepare reports - Class C driver’s licence
- The right to live and work in Australia
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required to
undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
Desirable Criteria
- Post graduate studies in Management, Environment,
Law or related discipline - Member of Planning Institute of Australia
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993
