Permanent Full-time (35 hours a week)

Competitive Salary $117,954.20 - $137,081.88 + 11.5% Superannuation p.a (Depending on skills and experience)

The Opportunity

As Coordinator Risk, you’ll lead a dedicated team in delivering Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, embedding risk as a key driver of strategic planning, service delivery, and governance. Reporting to the Manager Governance & Corporate Performance, you’ll provide both strategic and operational leadership across:

  • Enterprise Risk
  • Business Continuity
  • Fraud Prevention
  • Insurance

You’ll support the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) and ensure compliance with the NSW Office of Local Government (OLG) Risk Management Guidelines, while championing a culture of continuous improvement. Your work will directly contribute to the successful delivery of the Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program, and Operational Plan.

What you need to succeed (Essential Criteria):

  1. Qualifications in risk management, governance, business, or equivalent relevant experience.
  2. Proven experience in developing and maintaining enterprise risk management systems.
  3. Demonstrated leadership skills – team coaching, performance development, and resource planning.
  4. Strong stakeholder engagement – ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
  5. In-depth knowledge of NSW OLG Risk Guidelines, ARIC functions, and local government risk frameworks.
  6. High-level communication skills – experience preparing strategic reports and risk dashboards.
  7. Project and change management experience – driving improvements in risk, fraud, or business continuity.
  8. Ability to interpret and apply legislation, standards, and governance frameworks in complex settings.
  9. Be willing to undergo national police check prior to commencement
  10. Hold a current driver's licence
