Construction Supervisor 

Location:  Tamworth

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Plan, program and review work for operational staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Manage end-to-end project execution including cost estimating, programming, and overseeing multi-disciplinary works from road construction to water infrastructure
  • Hands-on, dynamic role requiring site-based leadership, plant operation skills and effective collaboration with various stakeholders

 COULD THIS BE YOU?

To be successful in this role, you’ll be an experienced and self-motivated construction operator or tradesperson with a solid background in civil construction. You’ll have demonstrated experience planning and delivering projects along with a well-developed understanding of WHS, quality, environmental requirements and legislation. You'll be confident working within a small, close-knit team of operators and engineers and committed to mentoring and developing others. Strong leadership, hands-on skills across a variety of civil works, and the ability to manage plant, people, and project admin will be key to succeeding in this dynamic, site-based role.

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for:
  • Manage and control the day-to-day construction activities associated with large scale projects involving multi-disciplinary staff from other Departments and Divisions of Council and Contractors
  • Plan, program and review work for operational staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Lead and develop a team; including coaching, development and implementation of training plans, managing individual and team performance etc
  • Provide cost, quantity and time estimates for construction projects and activities
  • Control the completion of the necessary administration records.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction, Plant or similar
  • Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver Licence
  • WHS Construction Induction Card
  • SafeWork Traffic Control Certificate - Prepare a Work Zone Traffic Management Plan.
  • SafeWork Traffic Control Certificate - Implement Traffic Control Plans

Salary range: Grade 14 - $81,821.22 - $88,541.82 per annum plus superannuation, civil liability allowance for a 38 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
