About the role
In contributing to the overarching vision and purpose, the role is to provide operational support for the long-term sustainable management of the Central Coast’s natural assets, mainly bushland and wetland reserves. This will include supporting the implementation of strategies, conservation agreements and site management plans with actions which protect and enhance intrinsic biodiversity values.
The purpose of the role is to assist in implementing Council policies, strategies, and management plans relevant to current and future natural assets to protect and enhance environmental values, natural processes, character, scenic value, biological diversity, and ecosystem integrity, and to improve their resilience to threats, including response to climate change.
The position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Degree qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Ecology or related field, OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development.
- Current Class C drivers license
- Ability to coordinate and prioritise multiple tasks, demonstrating superior organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated experience in preparing a variety of written communication to a professional standard
- Proven skills and experience in undertaking ecological surveys and flora and fauna monitoring
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and interpret the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016
- Demonstrated experience in a specialised Administrative or Project Support Officer role

Other important information
- The commencing salary for this position is up to $77.7k. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $86.5k on completion of assessment of skills and performance 11.5% superannuation
- We have a temporary part-time role available with hours and days flexible (17.5 hours per week)
- We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role
- This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
