  • Permanent full-time, 35 hours per week
  • Salary from $97,692.09 to $105,742.58 per annum + 11% superannuation
  • 3.5% pay increase from July 2024

About the role:

In this position,you will Implement and champion the principles of community inclusion and participation, deliver projects and programs aligned with Council’s strategic objectives using these principles and Work collaboratively with the Executive Manager Community Life, the Coordinator, and the team to
ensure compliance with organisational direction and culture, executing Council’s functions regarding
Community Life. This position is responsible for Disability and Ageing portfolios within Community Partnerships.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences, community development or similar field.
  • Knowledge in Asset Based Community Development principles and practices.
  • Sound understanding of, and commitment to, contemporary place making principles and practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key stakeholders in the community, including government, non-
  • government and business and a demonstrated ability to work with these stakeholders.
  • Knowledge in community engagement techniques.
  • Current Class C drivers licence and working with children check
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic planning processes and approaches.
  • Extensive work related experience in social sciences, community development or similar field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Asset Based Community Development principles and practices.
  • Specialist experience in implementing community development initiatives in both established and newly developed communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in using quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
  • Experience in managing communications in a politically sensitive environment.
