About the role
Step into a role where your engineering expertise directly shapes the liveability of a thriving community. As a Civil Design Engineer at Ku-ring-gai Council, you’ll take ownership of diverse infrastructure projects — from roads and drainage to traffic and public domain improvements — delivering smart, practical designs from concept through to construction.
Working alongside experienced professionals and engaging with stakeholders at every level, you’ll play a key role in creating sustainable, high-quality outcomes that make a real difference to the community every day.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver civil design projects end-to-end — from concept through to construction
- Prepare detailed designs, specifications and cost estimates
- Coordinate consultants, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure designs meet Australian Standards and regulatory requirements
- Support project delivery with technical advice during construction
- Embed sustainable design principles (ESD & WSUD) into all projects
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering and at lease 3 years experience
- Strong capability in Civil 3D / 12D, DRAINS / Truflow and AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of Australian Standards, materials and construction methods
- Experience in project coordination, estimating and reporting
- Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills
