About the role

A rare opportunity exists for a dynamic and experienced senior manager to join our Health and Building Unit that oversees health inspections, respond to environmental health complaints, deliver pest control, regulate construction and building compliance, licensed premises and fire safety.

In this role, you'll provide leadership and strategic direction to the highest standard to achieve a safe, healthy and high-quality urban environment.

We're looking for someone with:

• tertiary qualifications in health, building or a related field or significant experience in a related field
• proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to articulate vision and inspire direction with diverse stakeholders, and experience in presenting complex information for non-technical audiences
• substantial expertise in health, building or related field in a complex urban environment
• demonstrated ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities, to reconcile competing priorities and develop responsive strategies.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
