Temporary full-time position until July 2027
35 hours a week + Variable Day Off every 19 days
Flexible working arrangements - WFH Opportunities
Salary ranging from $75,814.48 - 88,108.49 + 12% Superannuation per annum

 

This is a hands-on support role where no two days look the same. You’ll be the steady point that helps keep systems, people, and priorities aligned across a busy and collaborative directorate. This is a practical, people-focused support role where your work helps leaders and teams stay organised, responsive, and focused on what matters most.

 

What you'll do

As our Business Support Officer, you'll provide high-quality, responsive administrative and operational support across multiple branches within the Corporate Strategy and Resourcing Directorate. You will contribute directly to the efficient and effective achievement of the Directorate’s outcomes and priorities.

You’ll work collaboratively with the Executive Assistant to the Director, Managers, and their teams to ensure efficient business operations through the coordination of:

  • Procurement and finance documentation
  • Diary management
  • Document and record management
  • Meeting coordination and support
  • Internal communication
  • Administrative support for seasonal and project-based activities

You’ll play a key role in supporting Corporate Strategy and Resourcing to deliver on Council’s objectives and organisational priorities by maintaining strong systems, clear communication, and administrative excellence across the Directorate. You will also support the streamlining of existing workflows and business processes by identifying opportunities for greater efficiency and continuous improvement in day-to-day operations.

What you'll need to succeed (Essential Criteria)

  1. Certificate III in Business Administration or other relevant related discipling and demonstrated experience providing administrative or business support within a complex organisation.
  2. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes to deadlines.
  3. Proven experience with procurement, invoicing, and financial administration systems and processes.
  4. High level of competency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and corporate systems such as ECM and CRM.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide professional and customer-focused service to internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
  7. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
  8. Flexibility and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve administrative systems, workflows, and business processes.
  9. Hold a current Drivers Licence (Class C)
