ABOUT THE ROLE
Based in Mundubbera, this casual opportunity with the North Burnett Transport Service is well suited to an individual who enjoys driving long distances and contributing to the local community.
As a valuable member of our team, you will play a vital role in connecting North Burnett residents to Bundaberg, Childers, Gin Gin and Maryborough – to access medical, professional and personal appointments, while also providing a public transport option for tourists and workers wishing to travel to our region for work or play.
You will be responsible for the safe and reliable transport of passengers while delivering courteous and professional customer service. You will operate Council buses on scheduled routes, assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, and ensure bus fleet is compliant, clean, and well maintained.
This role provides essential support for both planned and unplanned leave.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a confident, safety-conscious driver who takes pride in delivering a high standard of service. You will demonstrate reliability, be community-minded, and be able to work independently while maintaining a professional and approachable manner.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current LR class manual driver’s licence & Queensland Driver Authorisation.
- Previous experience operating buses or coaches
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds
- A flexible and proactive approach to work, with availability for longer shifts (typically 10–12 hours) across Tuesday to Thursday, and occasional weekend or short-notice work as required
- The ability to follow procedures accurately, complete records, and support Council’s safety and compliance requirements
- The ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, to confirm fitness to safely perform the role.
