We have an exciting opportunity in the Parks and Environment team for an experienced person to supervise maintenance and care of trees within the City’s parks and streetscapes.
With a strong focus on customer service, coordinating work schedules and supervising contractors, you’ll play a valued role in growing the City’s urban forest and helping Canning achieve our canopy coverage goals.

A snapshot of your day-to-day duties:
- Assist in supervising and coordinating the daily work of the Urban Forest Teams and contractors
- Coordinate and deliver Urban Forest maintenance schedules, projects and customer requests
- Support the delivery of the City’s strategic canopy coverage goals
- Ensure all works are carried out safely, on time, and to high standards
- Manage and coordinate materials, vehicles, plant and equipment
- Ensure accurate recording of daily team activities, incidents and team member time-sheets
Who we’re looking for:
- Possess a Certificate III or higher in Arboriculture, Horticulture or equivalent (or working towards)
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in Arboriculture or related field
- Proven ability in organising and supervising teams and contractors
- Able to coordinate work schedules and deliver works to agreed timeframes and standards
- Professional, customer-focused and great communication skills
- A commitment to safety and excellent service delivery
- Valid ‘C’ class driver’s licence (MR class highly desirable) and any relevant tickets e.g. Chainsaw
- Satisfactory National Police Clearance (under six months)
