Your next opportunity

Following a comprehensive service review, Council is
implementing Phase 2 of the Infrastructure & Assets transformation,
focused on strengthening middle management, clarifying accountabilities,
improving coordination and ensuring our services are sustainable, well-governed
and future-ready.

As part of this transformation, we are seeking a technically skilled and experienced Asset Systems Officer to
administer Council’s Asset Management systems and GIS, ensuring asset data is
accurate, reliable and effectively supports planning, reporting and
decision-making. The role integrates inspection results, contributed developer
assets and lifecycle data, while producing GIS mapping, asset reports and
analysis to inform renewal planning, risk management and long-term financial
forecasting.

This position acts as the custodian of Council’s asset
systems and GIS datasets, providing technical support, training and data
integrity across the Infrastructure & Assets Directorate.

Reporting to the Coordinator Assets and forming part of the overall
Infrastructure & Assets Directorate, this role has responsibility for maintaining
and administering Council’s Asset Management system and associated registers, including
GIS systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all data.

Essential selection criteria include (full criteria in the Position Description below):

  • Qualifications in asset management, GIS, information systems or civil engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in administering asset systems and GIS mapping platforms.
  • Strong data management, spatial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle planning and integration with GIS.
  • Proficiency with GIS software (ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS or equivalent) and asset systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and database management skills.
  • Strong problem solving, organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and provide training.

Be rewarded

This position is placed at Grade 8 of Council’s salary system and is a full-time, permanent position. The salary offered is in the range of $79,382 to $89,295 per annum plus 12% Superannuation.

This role works a 19-day month with 1 rostered day off (RDO) every 4 weeks.
