Description
Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced civil engineer to join the Transport Assets Team. The role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner wishing to build on their existing career and progress it to the next level. You will provide technical assistance in the management of civil assets, and in the preparation and implementation of the Delivery and Operational Plans for civil related assets.
You will be required to exercise autonomy and provide professional expertise in:
- Development of capital works program for civil assets
- Management the assessment of condition for civil assets
- Provide professional and expert advice and recommendations on civil asset and infrastructure.
We are seeking candidates that take pride in their work, have a positive attitude, are punctual, reliable, hardworking, and able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The candidate will bring the following to the Transport Assets Team:
- A tertiary qualification in civil engineering and demonstrated industry experience.
- Experience in contract administration, contract supervision, tendering and quality assurance practices.
- Previous experience in the implementation of Asset Management principles and practices.
- Proven experience managing civil infrastructure and design projects, and ability to apply innovative and international best practice solutions.
- High level of knowledge for the principles and practice of civil engineering, and emerging trends, principles, and operations with an understanding of civil engineering operations and function.
- Well-developed knowledge of Australian standards, codes of practice, authority regulations and accepted industry best practice for the design and installation of engineering services associated with Civil Engineering projects.
- Demonstrated experience in the procurement and project management of civil infrastructure feasibility and design projects including contract management, scope, and cost management.
- Demonstrated experience in assessing, diagnosing, and scoping works in response to identified issues with civil assets.
- Very high level of oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with people on all levels and ability to explain, negotiate and influence complex issues.
- Highly developed computer skills including high level competence in the use of word, spreadsheets, and database software capabilities.
- Drivers Licence Class C
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $93,634 gross per annum
+ 11.5% superannuation
+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary
+ annual award increase
