Art Tutor

  over 8-week terms on weekdays 3.30pm – 9.00pm
• Band 5 from
  $53.52 per hour (including 25% casual loading) + 12% superannuation
• Based at
  MC2, Doncaster in our fully equipped visual arts and ceramics studios

We are seeking passionate and experienced Art
Tutors to join our casual team at Manningham
Art Studios. This is an exciting opportunity for practicing artists to
share their expertise and contribute to an inclusive and welcoming creative
learning environment.

As an Art Tutor, you will develop and deliver
engaging visual arts and ceramics programs for adults, young people and
children. You will inspire creativity, support skill development and help connect
people from across our community through making art together.

For this round of casual recruitment, we are interested
in engaging artists that can teach ceramics including wheelwork and hand
building in a community arts setting.

About the
Role

We deliver
a dynamic program of visual arts and ceramics courses, workshops and
public programs for children, young people and adults in our fully equipped and
purpose-built art studios set in a busy community centre.

You will play an important role in bringing art to
our community by:

• Developing
  and delivering engaging creative arts learning experiences tailored to a
  range of skill levels and interests across an 8-week term.
• Creating
  an inclusive learning environment that support students from diverse
  cultural backgrounds and those that may attend with carer support.
• Contributing
  to public programs, events and creative initiatives across the Arts,
  Culture and Local History team.

Skills and
Experience

• Demonstrated professional arts practice and
  experience delivering workshops, classes or community-based arts programs.
• Experience teaching visual arts and/or
  ceramics to a diverse range of participants.
• Strong communication, organisation and time
  management skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively while
  managing classes independently.
• A current Working with Children Check.
• A willingness to obtain a First Aid
  Certificate upon commencement.

The following will be highly regarded:

• Experience working with children and young
  people.
• Experience supporting participants with a disability
  or additional support needs.
