Sutherland Shire Council is looking for a motivated and reliable person to join our Facilities & Fleet Team as an Apprentice Painter and Decorator. This is a great opportunity to learn a practical, hands-on trade while earning a nationally recognised Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.

About the Role:

As an apprentice, you’ll be involved in painting and maintaining Council buildings and community spaces. You’ll learn how to prepare surfaces, apply paint and finishes, follow safety procedures, and use trade tools and equipment correctly. You'll also rotate through different work areas to gain valuable experience across a variety of projects.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and develop their skills in painting and decorating.

  • Satisfactory completion of Year 10 Record of School Achievement.
  • Ability to meet physical demands and work outdoors in various conditions.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a trade in Painting and Decorating.
  • Possession of a Class C licence and relevant work experience are desirable but not essential.
