The Role
Reporting to the Companion Animals Team Leader, and based in Mulgrave the
Animal Shelter Assistant is a varied position consisting of both administrative
tasks and hands on tasks such as front counter operation, cash handling, feeding animals and cleaning kennels. The
Animal Shelter Assistant will liaise with animal welfare groups and be
responsible for daily transactions within the facility.
About You
You will have
studied an animal related discipline and have a passion for
animals and animal welfare. You will have excellent communication and customer
service skills, you will be self motivated and have the ability to work under pressure and deal with conflict through negotiation. You will have demonstrated administration, clerical and cash handling experience
supported by sound computer skills.
Essential Criteria
- Cert II Animal Studies or equivalent experience
- Sound Administration and Clerical experience
- Ability to handle/control companion animals
- Data entry and computer skills using a variety of software programs
- Experience in cash handling
- Good communication skills
