ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are seeking a suitably experienced and customer focused individual to join Council's Communications and Customer Service team. 

Reporting to Council’s Manager Communications and Customer Service, this position is responsible for providing administrative expertise to support the functions of the section and Council’s Corporate and Community Division as a whole. The position will also provide regular assistance and relief support to the Executive Assistant to the General Manager, Mayor and Councillors.

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in administrative roles, including maintaining databases, generating reports, and preparing and reviewing documents.
  • Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently, while adapting to changing priorities and resolving issues independently.
  • Proven highly developed written and oral communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated high level competency of Microsoft 365 and experience using corporate software and databases, fundamental competency in Adobe InDesign and Open Cities Content Management. A minimum typing speed of 70 wpm.
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic information management systems such as Content Manager, Pulse, Authority, and InfoCouncil.
  • Sound interpersonal skills with proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively in a team environment, contributing positively to division and organisational outcomes.

The rewards

  • An annual full time salary range of $68,700 to $78,900 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
