About the opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Administration Assistant to join our Human Resources team on a permanent, full-time basis.

As an Administration Assistant, you will assist the Executive Manager People and Culture and the HR section by:

  • maintaining a high degree of discretion and confidentiality of information and tasks
  • providing administrative support to committees and meetings 
  • coordinating content and maintenance of People and Culture intranet page
  • performing accounts payable and procurement activities
  • actioning all enquiries, correspondence and documentation appropriately
  • maintaining record management in accordance with Council’s Record Management Procedures
  • assisting People and Culture section with administrative tasks and projects.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Certificate, Advanced Certificate or Diploma in a related field and/or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality and professionalism
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work productively and collaboratively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary People and Culture environment
  • Current class C driver's licence.

 Desirable:

  • Experience using corporate databases (e.g. TRIM, TechOne, SCOUT)
  • Experience in Intranet development and maintenance
  • Experience in basic financial management
  • Experience in website content management
  • Proven competency in Committee management, including minute taking
  • Proven excellent time management and organisation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet diverse business priorities and work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a busy and ever-changing diary.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,361.20 per week
  • 35-hour working week 
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
