Work-life balance offering a 38-hour work week with a rostered day off every fortnight.
Additional allowances and overtime may be applicable
Competitive Salary $70,775.12 - 82,252.04 + 11.5% superannuation p.a (Depending on skills and experience)
Are you ready to take the next step in your civil construction career? We're looking for a proactive and skilled individual to support the Team Leader in delivering high-quality roads, drainage, and civil infrastructure projects for Council!
The Opportunity
As a 2IC Operations Tradesperson - Construction, you will report to the Team Leader Construction and assist with leading onsite teams, coordinating daily works, and contributing to a range of tasks including roadworks, stormwater drainage, footpaths, kerbing, and other civil construction projects. You’ll operate plant and equipment, interpret technical plans, and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

What you'll need to succeed (Essential Criteria):
- Hold qualification in Civil Construction (or something similar), along with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in civil works—especially in roads, drainage, or general construction.
- Confident using medium to large machinery, tools, and equipment, and aren’t afraid to get stuck into the physical side of the job.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team and have great planning, problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with technology—whether it's using devices or software to support engineering, planning, or day-to-day tasks.
- A clear communicator who can work well with a range of people and explain things simply when needed.
- Know how to motivate a team, manage performance, and create a positive and safe work environment.
- Hold and maintain a MR Drivers Licence, Ticket or Competency qualification to operate Excavator, Grader or Backhoe, current First Aid Certificate and WHS Induction Card
- You're open to learning—willing to obtain additional certifications within the 12 months of employment like Traffic Control, Chainsaw Use, Asbestos Awareness, and more.
- Willing to complete a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
