About the opportunity:
Wollondilly Shire Council have two exciting and rare temporary opportunities available for experienced Assistant Accountants to join the Management Accounting Team.
These positions will provide exposure to the entirety of the Financial Services Section including, Management Accounting, Revenue and Accounting Services . Reporting directly to the Team Leader Management Accounting, you will provide financial accounting services as required by Council and external organisations and ensure the integrity of data within Council’s financial information system..
To succeed in this position, you will meet the following criteria:
• Proven ability to develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases.
• Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to use, Corporate Information Systems and other computer applications to meet business needs.
• Demonstrated understanding of the relationships between various accounting sub-modules
• Demonstrated ability to show initiative and innovation when investigating, analysing & solving problems or taking advantage of opportunities.
• Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply accounting principles
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written & oral) with all levels in the organisation on all matters relevant to the position.
• Demonstrated provision of timely, accurate and professional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Tertiary Qualifications in accounting or currently studying towards.
