Senior Project Officer

You will lead the planning and delivery of complex, built form major City projects ensuring that they are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality in line with the City and Council policies and frameworks and industry best practice and codes. You will liaise with the contract superintendents, representatives and administrators as required and be responsible for the creation of project scopes, specifications, contract documentation and schedules. You will be called on to review technical specifications, drawings and contracts. You will also provide excellent advice, technical leadership, guidance and support to the Infrastructure Project Delivery Team and the wider organisation. You will undertake research, investigation and evaluation of new technologies, products services or initiatives that can deliver increased level of service or financial benefits along with developing strategies to deliver complex projects within dynamic construction environments.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

1. Well-developed technical knowledge of and minimum five years’ experience in building construction industry
2. Comprehensive experience managing and coordinating contractors for major building works, as well as an all-encompassing project portfolio demonstrating budget, quality and scheduling success
3. Demonstrated ability to produce high quality, technical project scopes, specifications, contracts, estimates and budgets
4. Highly developed skills and proven experience in decision making, negotiation, facilitation and problem solving
5. Advanced knowledge of tender/contract documents and frameworks
6. Highly developed financial management skills
7. Advanced computer literacy in a range of applications e.g. Microsoft Office (including MS Project), workflow, asset management, project management and record keeping systems
8. Excellent interpersonal skills particularly written and verbal communication and ability to manage a range of stakeholders
9. Working knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and practices
10. Tertiary qualifications in project management, building construction or a related trades field
11. Professional development in contract, construction or project management
12. Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence

We are offering a remuneration package from $111,967 to $119,224, depending on skills and experience and:

• 12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
