About the Role

Reporting to theCustomer Service Team Leader, you will provide professional customer service and administrative support across a wide range of Council functions. You will be responsible for assisting residents, visitors and internal stakeholders through front counter services, telephone enquiries, correspondence management and administrative support activities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality customer experiences.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide exceptional front counter and telephone customer service.
  • Respond to and distribute enquiries received through Council's customer service channels.
  • Assist with daily mail processing and correspondence management.
  • Provide accurate information in accordance with Council policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy records and filing systems.
  • Support meeting room bookings, corporate events, receptions and staff functions.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and record management.
  • Build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of customer enquiries and ensure timely resolution.

About You

You are a customer-focused and organised professional who enjoys helping people and delivering exceptional service. With experience in a customer service and/or administrative environment, you have strong communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of people.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can effectively manage competing priorities and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, you are comfortable handling enquiries, preparing correspondence, maintaining records and supporting a variety of administrative functions.

As a collaborative team player, you demonstrate professionalism, discretion and a commitment to delivering outstanding service to both internal and external customers. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working with a diverse range of stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in a customer service and/or administrative role.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to produce accurate correspondence.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.

Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration or similar will be highly regarded.
