Join our friendly Parks Team and help care for local parks, gardens, and streetscapes. This hands on role involves a variety of maintenance activities, including planting, weeding, pruning, and general upkeep to ensure our outdoor spaces are well presented.

About the Opportunity
The officer is responsible for maintaining parks, gardens, and streetscapes to agreed standards across the municipality. This includes operating mowing and brush‑cutting equipment in line with seasonal programs. The role also involves assisting with general park and garden maintenance tasks such as planting, weeding, pruning, and rubbish removal as required.

 

What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

  • Current car licence (manual)
  • Relevant experience in parks and garden maintenance.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of out-front mowers, tractor’s and horticultural equipment.
  • Ability to identify and control weeds effectively in turf and gardens.
  • Experience in tree establishment and care.


Salary and conditions

The position is classified within Band 2 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement commencing at $67,507 per annum including industry allowance plus statutory superannuation.
