Balranald Shire Council has an exciting opportunity within our Bidgee Haven Hostel team for a qualified, skilled and motivated individual as:

REGISTERED NURSE (FT)

Bidgee Haven Hostel offers a close-knit and welcoming team environment, where a small and stable workforce works together to create a warm, friendly and supportive home for our 15 residents.

Exciting improvements are currently underway at the facility, including the construction of a new six-bed Memory Support Unit, a modern commercial kitchen, expanded living and dining areas, upgraded laundry facilities, and enhanced outdoor spaces. These developments will provide an even more enjoyable and contemporary environment for both residents and staff.

We understand the importance of flexibility and are open to considering a range of working arrangements. Block shifts and accommodation options may be available for applicants living remotely, and part-time applications are also encouraged.

The position is critical to ensure residents of the Hostel receive the highest level of care and attention.

Some Key Accountabilities are:

  1. Collaborate with medical practitioners and allied health professionals to ensure changes in residents' clinical needs are identified, communicated, implemented, and evaluated to support safe, effective care. Liaising with other members of the health team, to identify resident care needs, plan interventions and review outcomes of care.
  2. Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess residents' care needs, develop and implement care plans, and regularly review outcomes to promote optimal health and wellbeing.
  3. Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant clinical documentation that reflects nursing assessments, interventions, evaluations, and resident outcomes in accordance with organisational policies and professional standards.
  4. Provide direct nursing care and attend to residents' daily clinical and personal care needs, while supporting and assisting care staff to ensure safe, person-centered care is delivered in accordance with residents' care plans and organisational policies.

Excellent communications skills and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team is essential.

Terms of employment will be in accordance with the Nurses' (Local Government) Residential Aged Care Consolidated (State) Award 2021 and Councils salary and performance management systems.
