The role
We are currently seeking1 x Casualand2 x Full-time, Food and Beverage Supervisors to join the newly redeveloped North Sydney Olympic Pool team.
The role is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Café and Gelato Bar operations at North Sydney Olympic Pool. The role ensures efficient service delivery, high standards of food and beverage quality, an excellent customer experience for our community and compliance with Council policies, food safety regulations and workplace safety requirements.

The Cafe opening hours we are working on are:
- Monday - Friday 6.30am to 7.30pm
- Saturday - Sunday 6.30am to 6.30pm
- Public Holidays: 8.30am to 5.00pm
- Closed on Easter Friday, Easter Sunday, and Christmas Day
The person

In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Café and Gelato Bar to ensure efficient, safe and high-quality service delivery
- Ensure consistency in service standards, food and beverage quality, and customer experience
- Confidently resolve customer enquiries and challenges with efficiency and care
- Supervise and roster food and beverage staff including baristas, food and beverage attendants, cooks and kitchen hands, and allocate tasks and responsibilities to staff throughout shifts
- Assist in recruitment activities including shortlisting, interviewing and onboarding of hospitality staff.
- Provide on-the-job training, guidance and support to team members including ongoing staff development.
- Oversee operation of the POS system, ensuring accuracy of transactions and end-of-day reconciliation and reporting.
- Coordinate ordering and replenishment of food, beverages, packaging and consumables, including monthly stocktakes, correct stock rotation and storage practices (FIFO)
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks during peak periods or where kitchen staff are unavailable, maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas when supporting operations
- Ensure compliance with NSW Food Act, food safety standards and Council policies
- Work collaboratively with Head Cook to identify opportunities for menu improvements
- Contribute to a collaborative, respectful team culture

Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced customer service environment with a passion and commitment to providing friendly and welcoming service standards.
- NSW Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) qualifications including knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
- Previous experience training, coaching, and mentoring other staff to deliver best practice customer service standards.
- A high level of interpersonal skills, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Demonstrated high level administration and organisation skills, including use of Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams).
- Experience with Point-of-Sale systems, day-to-day bookkeeping, financial procedures, end-of-day banking and stocktake processes.
- Flexible to work across a 7 day week operation with morning shifts starting from 6:00am and closing shifts finishing at 8:00pm.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Be able to satisfy the requirements of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulations 2013 and provide a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance; and adhere to Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- National Police clearance.
Desirable Criteria
- Hospitality qualifications or relevant training
- Barista experience
- Experience working within a high-volume or multi-outlet hospitality venue.
- Experience and knowledge of Local Government practices, regulations, and policies.
- Vaccinated against COVID-19.

Hourly rate from: $39.24 to $46.85 per hour + 12% superannuation + $1,000 pa transport allowance
