Are you an experienced water industry professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Specialist Operator – Water & Wastewater to join our team and help deliver reliable, high-quality water and wastewater services to our community. 

To be successful in this role you will ideally have completed a Certificate III in Water Industry or equivalent, but we will consider applicants that have been working in a related field or have experience operating plant and machinery.

Apart from skills and experience, we need a team member that is hard working, punctual and prepared to have a go at whatever job is thrown their way. We require a person that can work independently and who is also able to get along with other people working in a team.

The Specialist Operator – Water & Wastewater is responsible for:

  • Perform general construction and maintenance to water and waste water reticulation including mains, manholes fittings and services.
  • Operate, monitor and maintain water and waste water treatment systems and processes.
  • Attend to customer requests and enquiries
  • Contribute to the review and updating of internal business processes
  • Comply with relevant budget processes and procedures ensuring appropriate charge numbers and costing codes are used.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Certificate III in Water Industry Operations OR other recognised water and/or wastewater treatment qualification
  • Workcover WHS Induction
  • MR Drivers Licence
  • NSW Public Health Certificate for Fluoride Systems

The position may be required to participate in a roster to provide out of hours and on call services to meet Council’s operational requirements and customer service obligations.

Salary Range: Grade 9 - $1,243.30 - $1,345.40 per week plus 12% superannuation and 10% Market Allowance. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
